I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1991, however, I grew up for the first twelve years of my life in small town 20 minutes from Omaha called Springfield. I spent all but one year of my educational childhood there (I spent one year at Millard Central). I have lived in Omaha since I was 12 years old and have not really felt the need to move out of the city, however, I do miss the charm of small town living.
I graduated from Platteview High School in 2010 and started my college career shortly after. I have certainly taken the long route with my continuation of education (I have been in college off and on for ten years). I never really knew exactly what I wanted to do, and the breaks within the ten years gave me a chance to pay down student loans.
I am currently doing multi-disciplinary studies. My main major is in History with concentrations in Geography and Political Science.
Unfortunately, I have never taken a trip outside of the United States (I was close to a trip to the UK back in 2016, but family issues prevented me from going). However, most of my life I have managed to travel to approximately 38 states in the United States, yet I have not visited anywhere in the Northeast, Hawaii, or Alaska. Two trips in my life I planned on my own with friends, Portland, OR, and Houston, TX. I do have a current trip planned in March for Las Vegas. I have hopes to take an international trip in the next year or two, with Mexico and Peru as my top choices.
Well, beyond needing this class for my major, I do need to learn how to properly plan a trip, especially one that is going to last for almost two to three weeks. Most of my vacations have been planned on a whim and when I get to the destination, I really do not have any idea where to go and places I should visit. This course will teach me those things while also showing me places I need to avoid.
Everything that I will do for this classes assignments will be done through Google Chrome and Microsoft word. I am sure once I am more comfortable with coding, I may search for a new way to do my assignments. I could not locate the videos, for some unknown reason.
